Un-seasonable.

I know it's illogical, but lately I have been fantasizing about how to incorporate fur into my outfits. There is something so, "Yes DAaahhhling", about the whole look. Ninety degrees and fabulous.

Victorian Haven

The Lala and I have been obsessed with this lovely house ever since we were little girls. Our dear family friends the Hyne's invited us over for a Memorial Day dinner last night, and I couldn't help but snap pictures of the gorgeous attention to detail. Our wonderful Miss Linda has always had an original flare for home decor, and I could spend an hour in each room without seeing each piece. Feast your eyes! Tea cups, books, and lacey everything for your viewing pleasure.

A Little Short For A Stormtrooper

Thinking strictly hypothetically, if I were a character on Doug or Recess, animated Rachel Rogers would wear this outfit in every episode. Waving my freak flag high, a deeply embedded love for Star Wars and superheroes is well-represented, and I feel very 'me' to boot. What can I say? I fell in love with Han Solo at eight-years old and crafted an immaculate card board millenium falcon in my play room. Do or do not, there is no try.

So.........May the force be with you, you scruffy looking nerf herders.

Peaceful Easy Evening

A back porch is essential to any inhabitance in Nashville. The roomies and I utilized our own yesterday evening for a night of wine & cheese. Mobilizing my record player, we relocated it to the porch, blaring Glenn Miller, Stan Getz and then progressively moving into a less classafrass  Eagles record. We annihilated prosciutto, cantaloupe, and a truckload of cheese in roughly thirty minutes while humming along to our favorite oldies. Taking great pride in the European-ness (word?...maybe) of it all, we vowed to make this type of evening a regular occurrence.

Steeplechase 2012

Is there anything more Southern than mint juleps and a day at the races? I have been invited by dear family friends to sit in a box at the Iroquois Steeplechase for the past couple of years and I relish every minute of it. My adopted Aunt Clarice is an equestrian, knowing everything there is to know about horses and fox hunting. She also dresses to the nines, looking lovely in a classic dress suit and a gorgeous scarf to match. We bet real life money, ate cucumber sandwiches, and I got to visit my favorite cousins at their tent that is infamously marked by a flag flying a scandalous mannequin leg. Met Gala 2012

This might come across as wide-eyed and cliche, but I would truly die to one day be invited to the Met Gala. What a fantastically chic and artistic event! This 2012 Met Gala video inspired me mainly because of the collaborative tone behind this gathering of incredibly talented artists celebrating one another. It did not seem as '5-minute sex tape fame' as most red carpet events and I fully attribute this to the fact that it was in New York City. Directly following a Puccini piece, Bruno Mars rocked a throw back soul number, demonstrating that art is timeless if you are willing to master your medium. Anyway, the fashion was innovative and spirits seem to be high amongst these artists. It gives me something to look forward to if I ever become lucky enough to succeed on a level such as this. Until then, I'll drool with the rest. Enjoy!

Fierce

There is truly something to be said for women who are unapologetic in both their speech and dress. From creating a fashion empire during an immensely chauvinistic era to writing a controversial song elaborating on the joys of taking 'the pill,' there are so many women who inspire me. Here are a few of them! There is a stereotypical feminist that causes all of us to cringe, and then there are those women who simply live their lives with no fear and no regrets. Unwilling to let their flaws define them, these women are, in a word, fierce.
